2012 World Ag Expo: Local dairy family to celebrate with open house, cattle sale

Airoso Dairy Farms will be celebrating its centennial anniversary of dairy farming in California during World Ag Expo. The Tulare County family will be hosting two open houses and a registered dairy cattle sale as part of the celebration. “We’re celebrating 100 years of being in the dairy business and 45 years of breeding registered Holsteins,” fourth-generation dairyman Joey Airoso says. Dairy producers and the general public are invited to an open house at Airoso Dairy on Tuesday, Feb. 14, and Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The dairy is located at 18829 Road 64 in Tulare.

Attended by international scientists, the industry, academia, consultants, veterinarians and government representatives, there have been 21 Discover Conferences to date. I had the opportunity to attend the 22nd Discover Conference, which was on “Milk Components: Opportunities for Maximizing Farm Gate Returns and Meeting Manufacturing Needs.”
