The Hoof Trimmers Association, Inc. will host its 2011 Hoof Health Conference – the dairy industry’s exclusive international forum on hoof health – July 21-23, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, at the Doubletree Willow Valley. Hoof trimmers as well as dairy producers, veterinarians and nutritionists – everyone on the dairy management team interested in hoof health – is welcome to attend this comprehensive, three-day seminar that will address all facets of hoof health issues on today’s dairy operations.


The 2011 Hoof Health Conference will offer general sessions, panel discussions, trimming demonstrations with live cattle and cadaver feet, and a trade show that will be open for two days. Numerous breakout sessions will offer attendees excellent opportunities to discuss issues and network with each other and the guest speakers.

Topics include digital dermititis, heel ulcers and sole fractures, leg angularity, electronic record management and more. Dennis Wolf, DPAC advocate and former Secretary of Agriculture in Pennsylvania, will serve as the guest luncheon speaker on Friday, July 22. Speakers include but are not limited to: Dr. Chuck Guard, Dr. Ondrej Becvar, Dr. Gerard Cramer, and Dr. Ernest Hovingh. A new session has been added to the 2011 conference specifically for dairy producers. This session will include a preventative maintenance discussion by Dr. Chuck Guard, low stress cattle handling by Dr. Gerard Cramer, and managing the heifer’s foot by Dr. Ondrej Becvar.
