• Crop reports  Numerous reports related to crop production are set to be released in early February. A final estimate of 2018 field crop production, and grain and hay stocks estimates for Dec. 1, will be released Feb. 6. Additional grain and crop production reports will be released Feb. 8, likely coinciding with the USDA Economic Research Service (ERS) monthly World Ag Supply & Demand Estimate report.

• Cattle reports  The estimate of cattle on feed in large feedlots as of Jan. 1, 2019, will be released on Feb. 22, followed by the estimate as of Feb. 1, on March 8. A semiannual report on beef and dairy cattle numbers will be released Feb. 28.

A revised schedule of additional reports will be announced later.

During the shutdown, only the USDA’s Ag Marketing Service (AMS) continued to issue regular market reports because many of the reports were supported by user fees or through other funding avenues, according to Veronica Nigh, economist with the American Farm Bureau Federation.  end mark
