USDA adjusts 2021-22 milk production outlooks, cuts price projections

The USDA’s latest World Ag Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report, released July 12, reduced the 2021 milk production forecast slightly but increased expected production in 2022. Price projections were reduced for both years.

Dairy ingredients were recipe for export success in May

While record cheese exports pushed U.S. exports to record heights in April, it was dairy ingredients that drove May volumes to nearly that same record level, according to a monthly update from the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC). On a daily basis, May dairy product exports were the second highest for any month on record.

One-year cow increase equal to South Dakota’s herd

The USDA’s May Milk Production latest report was released on June 21, and the numbers are growing across the board.
