InFocus: The Great American Milk Drive

The Great American Milk Drive is a collaborative effort between MilkPEP, Feeding America and the checkoff-funded National Dairy Council. The goal is to drive consumer donations of milk for those who need it most – hungry Americans. Hunger is an issue that impacts one in six of us. And, 95 percent of food banks say they don’t receive enough milk to meet their clients’ needs.

Vet med volunteers ensure quick biosecurity check-in at World Dairy Expo

Cattle trailers have begun rolling into Madison today, delivering 2,500 show cows to the Alliant Energy Center for the upcoming World Dairy Expo. To prevent possible disease transmission among the cattle, the health status of each animal must be verified before they are unloaded, and with the help of volunteer students from the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, this three-day process runs as smoothly as possible.
