The Center for Dairy Excellence’s “Open House” events were a big success this year, drawing more than 330 producers and vendors. The two events were held earlier in July at Misty Mountain Dairy in Fulton County and Lloyd B. Zimmerman & Sons in Northumberland County.

Hoof Health Conference draws worldwide attendance

More than 300 attendees from more than a dozen countries gathered in Brookfield, Wisconsin, for the Hoof Trimmers Association’s Hoof Health Conference on July 16-19. The four-day event brought in the hoof trimming trade’s renowned experts from industry and academia, speaking on topics such as digital dermatitis (DD) and animal welfare.

Continued worldwide efforts address Johne’s disease

The 12th International Colloquium on Paratuberculosis (ICP) was held June 22-27, 2014, in Parma, Italy. It was also a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the International Association for Paratuberculosis (IAP), the sponsoring organization. The ICP brings together veterinary and human medical researchers, educators and livestock industry representatives to share current work on paratuberculosis (Johne’s disease).

World Dairy Expo’s 2014 dairy cattle entries are now open. Exhibitors can choose to enter through the expo online entry system or by mail. Initial entry deadline is Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014. Premium Books were mailed to recent year’s exhibitors July 1. The Premium Book is also available online, or new exhibitors can request a copy from World Dairy Expo at (608) 224-6455.
