The July Feed Outlook report shows record-high U.S. corn production is projected for the 2025-26 marketing year, based on the season’s first survey-based corn-yield forecast of the year and updated area estimates from the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service.

The July Feed Outlook report shows new data shape expectations for a net decrease for new-crop feed grains production, relative to the prior projections informed by the March-released Prospective Plantings report.

Corn beginning stocks are cut 25 million bushels to 1.3 billion, reflecting an increase in exports that is partly offset by lower feed and residual use for 2024-25.

The House of Representatives passed the nearly 900-page bill, nicknamed the One Big Beautiful Bill, on July 3 with 218-214 votes, after the Senate passed the bill on July 1 with a 51-50 vote.

Just two days into a scheduled plan to reopen the southern border with Mexico to cattle imports, the USDA issued a new border closure on July 9.
