Name: Irie Moussiaux
Job title: Ruminant Territory Sales Representative
Company: Jefo USA
What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I earned my bachelor’s degree in animal science with a dairy concentration and agribusiness management minor from Michigan State University and am finishing my master’s degree in animal sciences with a focus on dairy nutrition from Ohio State University. My education focuses mainly on applied dairy nutrition, with hands-on experience in feeding trials, data collection and translating research into practical recommendations for commercial dairy operations.
Please describe your agricultural background.
I grew up in a farming community raising sheep. In college, I became involved in 4-H dairy judging and Dairy Challenge, which led to a strong interest in the dairy industry. During college and graduate school, I gained hands-on experience in dairy production and nutrition through internships, on-farm roles and applied research.
What territory will you cover?
I will be responsible for the Midwest territory, with a primary focus on Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.
What are your new responsibilities?
My role focuses on supporting nutritionists and producers across the Midwest by helping determine where the company’s products fit within their feeding programs. This will include building relationships, supporting on-farm trials, providing feedback from the field and representing Jefo at industry events.
What previous positions have you held?
Previously, I worked as a graduate research assistant at Ohio State University, where I led applied dairy nutrition research trials focused on starch inclusion strategies. My work included managing feeding trials, coordinating on-farm and laboratory sample collection, analyzing data and communicating practical on-farm solutions.
Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
The biggest impact on my career has come from my academic mentors and the mentors I worked closely with during internships. Having people who took time to teach, challenge my thinking and involve me in real decision-making have been the biggest influences on my career.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I’m most helpful by working alongside nutritionists and producers to talk through feeding decisions and problem areas, especially related to energy and component responses. My background in dairy nutrition allows me to explain how the company’s products align with herd goals.
Why did you choose this company?
I chose this company because the people and culture stood out to me. The team values collaboration, technical creditability and building long-term relationships; that showed in every conversation. It felt like [it was] an environment where integrity and good work matter.
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
In this role, I want to build trust within my territory and develop strong, long-term relationships with nutritionists and producers. My goal is to support successful use of the company’s products on-farm and continue learning and growing within the company as I gain experience in the field.
