In the hoof-trimming arena, we deal very closely with animal welfare, which is where these images focus on. I wanted to take on the challenge, and my goal was to show the care and effort that goes into caring for animals.
I was inspired to start a blog when my oldest children were of preschool
age. I have always loved to write, and having a blog was a great
creative outlet.
In 2017, we wanted to get more active on social media. The goal was to
be able to connect with our neighbors; more than anything, we wanted a
landing page for them to go to to learn about us or be able to reach out
to us.
Before I went to law school, I worked in the communications department
of a marketing firm where I managed social media accounts for clients,
and I discovered I really enjoyed the process of creating, sharing and
engaging with others on social platforms.
After I graduated high school, Instagram was the new social media app,
so while I was in college I would make some posts about the farm, but
after I graduated college is when I really started to get involved with
sharing our farm story on both Instagram and Facebook.
I started after seeing so much blatantly false information being pushed
out about dairy farming and farming in general, including posts by
people I knew in my own town.
I started Dairy Girl Fitness in March of 2018 as my way to combine my
passions of health/fitness and dairy. I grew up playing sports and
involved in the dairy industry, and my passions blossomed from there.
