Mark Corrigan
Corrigan will be an integral part of the team’s research efforts within the feedyard industry. He will work with beef producers in the High Plains region and researchers across the country providing product guidance for best practices in the area of feedlot growth and development. Corrigan holds a bachelor of science and masters of science from Kansas State University and received his doctorate from the University of Nebraska in beef cattle nutrition.
He gained his extensive research experience as the beef technical services manager at Lallemand Animal Nutrition. Corrigan previously managed diverse research projects, as well as marketing and communications efforts, for animal health and nutrition products in the U.S. and globally. He also has authored or co-authored more than 40 scientific articles, abstracts, symposium proceedings and presentations on a variety of beef cattle nutrition, health and performance topics.
Ben Holland
Holland will serve Merck Animal Health customers in the northern Midwest and High Plains regions and provide product guidance across all sectors of the beef industry. He also will be an integral part of the team’s research efforts within the cattle industry. He earned his bachelor’s degree in animal science from Texas Tech University and completed his master’s degree and doctorate in beef cattle nutrition at Oklahoma State University.
Prior to joining Merck Animal Health, Holland was an assistant professor and extension beef feedyard specialist for South Dakota State University and a research coordinator for Willard Sparks Beef Research Center at Oklahoma State University. He has written and presented more than 70 articles and presentations on a variety of beef cattle health and performance topics.
Brent Meyer
Meyer will specialize in feedlot and cow/calf production medicine in the upper Midwest. Meyer has more than 12 years of experience as a practicing veterinarian in Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota. He also served as a feedyard consultant in eastern Nebraska and an adjunct instructor for the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Meyer earned his undergraduate degree in animal science, doctorate of veterinary medicine and master’s degree in beef-production medicine from Iowa State University.
Justin Welsh
Welsh will work with cattle producers and veterinarians in the upper Midwest. His position will focus on veterinarian and producer education, as well as organizing and implementing research related to product life cycles and their uses in the field. He brings more than 17 years of experience to the team as a practicing companion and food animal veterinarian in western Nebraska.
Welsh’s veterinary practice predominately focused on the feedyard and cow/calf businesses. He also consulted for feedyards and sale barns in the region. He earned his undergraduate degree in animal science from the University of Nebraska and completed his doctorate of veterinary science from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
