Thermo-activated valve helps keep cattle water from freezing

The Ice Bull valve

This valve is designed to open when tank water temperature drops below 42OF, the company says, allowing well water into the tank at 0.2 GPM.

The combination of warmer incoming water and surface turbulence created from the water movement help keep cattle watering tanks from freezing.

When the tank water reaches 42OF again, the valve closes.
