What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I completed my Bachelor of Science in animal biology at the University of Guelph, Ontario.

Please describe your agricultural background.
Most of my experience in agriculture I acquired while I was completing my degree at Guelph. I did grow up around horses, worked as a stable hand and groom. I also worked for many large animal veterinarians as an assistant, in Canada and the U.S., and worked on a dairy farm in Rockwood for a few months last winter.

What territory will you cover?
All across Canada.

What are your new responsibilities?
As the registrar, I am processing all new registrations, transfers and maintaining the Canadian Jersey Herdbook. I am also the customer service agent and help clients across the country with questions or concerns.

What previous positions have you held?
I was a veterinary assistant for multiple equine and large animal vets. I also worked at the Animal Health Laboratory at the University of Guelph as post-mortem assistant and client care representative, as well as a laboratory technician assistant in bacteriology and histology.

Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
A lot of people have contributed to my passion to agriculture. My parents always encouraged me to excel at any job I decided to take. Also, thanks to all the vets I had the pleasure to work with, I learnt to be passionate about my career.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I hope to provide fast, committed and friendly service to all our clients, while ensuring the integrity of the herdbook is not compromised. As the bilingual customer service representative, I will be able to help our clients in Quebec in a timely manner, and hopefully this will minimize delays during the registration process.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
A big part of this job is being able to relate to clients and make sure they understand the requirements but without intimidating them. I look forward to developing a relationship with the clients so they are comfortable calling me if they have any questions or concerns, while also working for their respect.  PD
