What education are you bringing with you to this position?

I graduated from the Bishop Burton College of Agriculture in Beverly, England. I have also received a certificate in general agriculture, a certificate in pig production and awarded the prize for best practical student.
 
I was also trained in business planning and development, personnel management, instructional techniques, effective supervision, risk management strategies using futures and options and principles of counseling. I was also a part of the Canadian Agri-Food executive development program at the George Morris Centre.       

Please describe your agricultural background.
I have spent all my working life in Agriculture and AgriFood. With over 37 years experience in agriculture, I’ve held a variety of positions across many agricultural sectors including pig production, sales and marketing, farm exports, food and beverages, maple syrup industry promotion and agricultural equipment supply.

What territory will you cover?
I will be active in the Quebec and French speaking eastern Ontario markets.

What are your new responsibilities?
I am responsible for business development – agricultural recruiting services, client and candidate communications and the promotion of our online agricultural job board.

What previous positions have you held?
I have been a production manager, group production manager, sales manager, marketing manager, VP of sales and marketing, national sales manager, export marketing officer, general manager and business development manager.

Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
There are too many people to mention. I have been lucky enough to work with many outstanding people and teams over the course of my career.
 
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I really feel I will be offering a much needed recruitment service to the agricultural industry in Quebec. There are no other recruitment companies who are solely focused on the agricultural industry.

I chose this company for several reasons. It focuses only on agriculture and works only with Canadian companies within Canada. It also really does have national coverage and local expertise and a great team spirit and work ethic as well as flexibility.
 
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
I would like to establish AgCallHR as the premier human resources and recruitment company in Quebec. I want the company to be recognized as providing excellent client and candidate recruitment services.
 
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see having established AgCallHR as the go-to company for agricultural recruitment and candidate placement in Quebec.  PD
