CWT export assistance efforts focus on dairy products that positively impact producers’ milk checks: American-type cheeses, anhydrous milkfat, butter containing 82% butterfat, cream cheese and whole milk powder.

All these products are moving the components of U.S. dairy farmer milk overseas.

CWT member cooperatives submitted 333 requests for export assistance during the first quarter of 2022. CWT provided assistance on 278 of these requests, resulting in contracts to sell 36.5 million pounds of American-type cheese, 37,000 pounds of butter, 4.0 million pounds of cream cheese, and 14.7 million pounds of whole milk powder. These sales are the equivalent of 477 million pounds of milk on a milkfat basis.

Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) provided the content on this page. CWT was designed by America’s dairy farmers to benefit all U.S. dairy farmers. It is a voluntary, producer-funded program developed by National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) to strengthen and stabilize producer prices. Participating producers contribute four cents per hundredweight of milk produced to fund the program. For membership information go to www.cwt.coop
