What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I am a graduate of the University of Idaho. I currently have a bachelor’s in animal science, master’s in animal science with an emphasis in reproductive physiology, and I am pursuing a Ph.D. in animal physiology. My master’s and Ph.D. research work has focused on improving reproductive efficiencies in livestock operations.

Please describe your agricultural background.
Growing up on a small farm west of Idaho Falls, Idaho, has sparked my love for agriculture and has made me strive to keep it part of my life. As a result, I have had the opportunity to work on several farms and ranches in the Northwest. Additionally, over the last decade, my wife and I have been building a herd of purebred Charolais cattle.

What territory will you cover?
I will be responsible for all sales and marketing activities by Simplot Animal Sciences world-wide.

What are your new responsibilities?
I will be overseeing all sales and marketing activities of Simplot Animal Sciences.

What previous positions have you held?
For the last eight years, I was the director of sales and marketing for BioTracking LLC. Prior to BioTracking, I was the herdsman on an Angus ranch in central Washington.

Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
I have had many mentors who have given me great advice and guidance throughout my career. The people that have had the greatest impact are my parents and my wife. They taught me great values and how to work hard, which I have used throughout my life. My wife too is an example of hard work and determination and has been very supportive of me in every aspect of my career and has helped me progress in my career.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I will be able to help bring more profit to livestock producers by improving their production and reproduction.

Why did you choose this company?
Everyone at Simplot is so passionate about what they do. Their energy is amazing, and when I visited the office, I felt like it was the perfect fit. One of my favorite things to do is to help producers; this is the aim of everyone I work with.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My number one goal for this position is to work with all of the other members of the Simplot Animal Sciences team to build our brand as a world leader in providing reproductive management solutions to livestock producers. PD
