Construction of the $85 million dry milk processing plant in Fallon, Nevada, is more than halfway complete, according to Northern Nevada Business Weekly. It was originally planned to open this summer but winter weather and other complications delayed the project by 6 months.

Wesley Clark, DFA’s plant manager who is overseeing build out for the 110,000-square-foot facility, said “the project is going well,” according to the article in Northern Nevada Business Weekly.

The new greenfield milk processing plant will process approximately 2 million pounds of raw milk every day, producing about 225,000 pounds of dried dairy ingredients daily. The finished product will be for both domestic and export use.

This is the fourth dairy processing facility in the state, which is home to approximately 20 dairy farms that produce more than 600 million pounds of milk per year. PD
