BACKHUS 16.30 compost turner BACKHUS has developed a new product for aerated windrow composting.

The BACKHUS 16.30 is a robust compost turner that combines high performance with low costs. It is fully self-contained and self-propelled, with its own engine and drive system. No tractor or tow vehicle is required.

Weighing as little as 3,750 pounds and measuring only 9.9 feet by 4.3 feet, the dimensions of the BACKHUS 16.30 allow its transportation even on a regular car trailer. The BACKHUS 16.30 is fitted with an economical 47.5 horsepower diesel engine and an infinitely height-adjustable, reversible BACKHUS drum with hydrostatic drive.

Because of its compact caterpillar rubber tracks, the turner can be operated on any surface with no risk of damage to asphalt, concrete, paved surface, maintained gravel, crushed rock, hard/packed dirt, or other similar surfaces. Due to patent track clearers the heaps can be set up close to each other without any lane, therefore allowing for maximum area utilization.

Big capacity, even spreading hallmarks of New Holland M2000 series
New Holland has added two high-capacity models to its best-selling box spreader line. With heaped capacity of 524 cubic feet for the M2080 model and 628 cubic feet for the M2090 model, they can spread huge amounts of manure in a hurry, requiring fewer trips to the field.

The box consists of a solid poly floor and poly-bonded plywood sides, front and end gate, which will hold up under harsh conditions. These materials are not only corrosion-resistant, they’re smooth and slippery so heavy loads can be moved to the back of the spreader with less torque. The reliable double apron system uses heavy T-Bar chains that stand up to heavy loads of dense, packed material.

Special steel alloy idler slides for the apron chains at the front of the spreader prevent the apron chain from jumping off the idler sprocket. The speed of the apron chains can be hydraulically adjusted independently of the PTO-driven beaters using the electronic control in the cab.

New Holland’s M2080 and M2090 spreaders use an upper and lower beater to ensure that large pieces are broken up for more even spreading. Eighteen replaceable beater paddles, constructed of high-strength steel, are bolted to the beater shafts.

New BiOWiSH-Odor now available in U.S. markets
BiOWiSH Technologies announces the availability of new BiOWiSH-Odor. Using completely organic materials, it is a cocktail of active microbials that create a powerful combination of active enzymes, that in the presence of a proprietary blend of co-enzymes and co-factors, have the ability to remove the most persistent and intensive odors within minutes.

BiOWiSH-Odor is able to create environmental conditions where the natural bacteria can continue to perform its task including the final methane phase conversion of acids and alcohols into non-odorous methane, carbon dioxide, water and energy. It is also extremely effective at rapidly digesting ammonia – ideal for poultry operations where ammonia is an environmental and bird-health issue.

“BiOWiSH-Odor can result in reduction of odor emissions by up to 75 percent and waste reductions of up to 30 percent, based on independent external testing,” BiOWiSH Technologies President Rod Vautier states.

“We have had extensive applications of the technology in poultry, swine, beef and dairy manure for odor management overseas and are excited to bring this technology to the U.S. animal production marketplace.”

Vautier notes that this product has potential applications in feed supplementation pending FDA approval.

“The use of BiOWiSH in feed supplementation across all animal species has led to significant improvement in growth rates and feed conversion ratios by up of 15 percent, as well as substantial reduction in animal mortality rates by up to 60 percent,” Vautier adds.
