If you couldn’t picture a better way of life than family dairy farming, here’s your chance to prove it. Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., a family-owned business, is proud to introduce the Dairy Life Photo Contest. The contest is calling all dairy farm families to submit photos that capture what their cherished lifestyle is all about. Winning entrants will appear in a 2012 calendar to be distributed across the country and at the 2011 World Dairy Expo.

Dairy Life Photo Contest submissions should involve any aspect of your dairy operation, along with the family members who make it their life’s work. The only requirement is to make it interesting. Perhaps it will be your daughter’s first time on the halter of her spring calf or dad and grandpa helping with a herd check on a cold winter’s day; whatever it may be, each photo should display the essence of family farming. Each entry should include a story, in 200 words or fewer, about your family, your operation and how your photo depicts this great way of life.

To enter, visit www.bidairyphotos.com, upload your photo, and share your short story. The final entry deadline is May 31. Winners will be contacted by e-mail prior to Aug. 1. Entries will be judged on the appeal of the photo, as well as the accompanying written story. Entrants must allow photos and stories to be used in the calendar and for publicity uses related to the contest. Only one entry is allowed per family dairy operation. PD
