What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I am about to graduate from the University of Guelph with a degree in biology and a certificate in environmental conservation

Please describe your agricultural background.
I was born and raised on a small family-owned fruit farm in southwestern Ontario. I have worked as a crop scout for Setterington’s Fertilizer’s in Essex County, Ontario and have also spent a summer studying invasive agricultural pests with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Rural Affairs.

What territory will you cover?
As a liaison with the provincial branches, I will be representing and working alongside individuals across the country.

What are your new responsibilities?
As a part of the strategic communications team, I will work alongside the provincial branches and steering committees for the planning an execution of the National Holstein Conference. I will also lead the planning and promotions for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and other tradeshows across the country.

Lastly, I will be providing administrative support to the strategic communications team and serve as the main contact person for our international judging programs.

What previous positions have you held?
On top of my previous agricultural positions, I worked as a game day manager for the University of Guelph Athletic Department. I also completed a travelling summer internship with Golf Canada travelling across the country.
 
Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
My internship with Golf Canada provided me with the opportunity to work alongside a variety of individuals and planning committees across this vast country and instilled a passion and work ethic that have been invaluable to my career thus far.
 
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
The events that I will plan are essential not only to the Holstein Canada brand but also encourage education and communication with our members and consumers.
 
Why did you choose this company?
After meeting Ann Louise and other staff, I felt Holstein Canada staff was a group of incredibly friendly yet passionate individuals. Like many agricultural organizations, Holstein Canada’s staff and members have a rich history and strong traditions yet are still very much open to innovation.
 
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
While in this position, I hope to provide new innovations and efficiency to the strategic communications team and our events while respecting the integrity and traditions of Holstein Canada and our members.
 
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I hope to be continuing to promote knowledge and awareness for agriculture in Canada. PD
