New Kuhn MM 301 Merge Maxx hay merger

Kuhn North America Inc. is pleased to introduce the new Kuhn MM 301 Merge Maxx hay merger. The Kuhn MM 301 is a high performance, yet simple to operate, merger for smaller operations focused on high-quality hay and forage.

The MM 301 has been designed to work with mower conditioners from 9 feet to 18 feet of cutting width. It features a variety of options, so it can be tailored to match the needs of almost any operator’s preferences. The merger can be operated pulling directly behind the tractor, extended all the way to the right or anywhere in between.

The standard curved windguard helps create fluffy, well-formed windrows by keeping the crop close to the pickup and delivering it to the center of the belt. This smooths out crop bunching, resulting in greater harvester efficiency.

A self-contained hydraulic drive allows the merger to be operated by most tractors, regardless of hydraulic capacities. The MM 301 also has steel hydraulic lines on the tongue, providing the machine with a longer life and improved system performance.

Maintenance is quick, simple and easy on the Kuhn MM 301 hay merger. The MM 301 now includes a sight glass on the tongue to make it quick and easy to verify oil level. Additionally, there is a pressure gauge to help operators determine if an oil filter change is necessary. There is also a larger fill port to reduce time needed to refill the system during oil changes.

Titan introduces new AgraEdge tire line

Titan International is excited to announce the introduction of the Titan AgraEdge: a new full-line tire offering. These cutting-edge, cost-competitive tires initially are available in 17 of the most popular front and rear row crop mechanical front-wheel-drive tractor sizes, with a range of additional sizes being introduced throughout 2021 for four-wheel-drive tractors, combines and grain carts.

Designed for performance

The AgraEdge is a radial R-1W with a modern design and features improved compounding, the latest engineered materials, state-of-the-art construction techniques and modern lug angle for optimum self-cleaning and traction. In addition, new construction in the sidewall and lug angle provides excellent roading capability. The tire and footprint shape allow for minimal soil compaction.

Full line build-out

The initial 17 sizes available now range from 380/85R28 up to 520/85R42 to match the most common mechanical front-wheel-drive tractor front and rear configurations. Titan plans to expand the AgraEdge line to a total of 44 tires, with additional row crop through flotation sizes in a phased approach throughout 2021.

Kuhn FC 1061 TC and TL Series mower conditioners

The next generation of Kuhn FC TC and TL mower conditioners is here. The Kuhn FC 61 TC and TL Series mower conditioners offer fast, clean mowing of heavy grasses and delicate forage crops alike, combined with effective conditioning. From narrow windrows to wide swaths, these models continue to provide operators with the broadest choice of windrowing options to best match different harvesting practices and field conditions.

The new Optidisc Elite cutterbar provides a flat, streamlined profile so soil and crop residue do not accumulate and material flows smoothly, even in difficult crop conditions. Optidisc Elite cutterbars have a very slim profile, enabling short cut heights with a flat cutterbar angle to reduce dirt contamination in the crop and prolong blade life.

Kuhn FC 61 TC and TL Series mower conditioners allow operators to select between three different conditioning options to best meet their operation’s needs. The DigiDry finger conditioner provides consistent drying of grass and legume crops in various conditions with little maintenance. The Diamond Block rubber rollers have a horizontal staggered-diamond pattern, so there are more points for the crop to be crimped as it flows off the disc at different angles. The DoubleCrimp steel roller offers consistent crimping and even feeding of thicker crops and extended life in difficult and abrasive conditions.

The heavy-duty Gyrodine gearbox on Kuhn FC 61 Series mower conditioners is designed to withstand the most severe pull-through force from the hitch to the machine. The swivel design allows a 90°-plus turn while keeping the PTO driveline straight. This design also allows extremely tight turns for clean, square corners, while minimizing PTO vibration and wear.

Mecalac hydraulic thumb increases material handling ease

Mecalac, a leading global designer, manufacturer and distributor of compact construction equipment for urban environments, offers a new hydraulic thumb option for its recently reconfigured two-piece boom with offset, available for 6MCR skid excavators and 7MWR wheeled excavator models. The new thumb makes it easy to pick up, maintain and move large or long objects, transforming material handling capabilities for applications such as truck loading or pipe laying. This makes it ideal for contractors in several industries, including utilities, landscaping, road maintenance and general construction.

The hydraulic thumb option permanently mounts to the bucket linkage where it is powered by the boom’s hydraulic cylinder. Unlike grappling buckets or other attachments that must be dismantled during other operations, the new hydraulic thumb can remain attached during digging work or other tasks. The thumb is composed of four teeth and is compatible with Mecalac’s Connect hydraulic quick coupler, the safest and most compact quick coupler on the market. When engaged, the constant pressure exerted on the thumb throughout the cylinder’s stroke ensures precise control of the load, allowing operators to efficiently move boulders, pipes and other cumbersome objects without leaving the cab or changing the attachment.

The new hydraulic thumb option is available on 6MCR and 7MWR models with Mecalac’s two-piece boom with offset and can be added to existing models with this boom, as well. This variation of Mecalac’s innovative boom design maintains the unrivaled range of motion and industry-leading lifting force. Additionally, positioning the stick cylinder above the boom, rather than underneath, provides a wider working angle, faster movement and a higher penetration force that is ideal for excavation and truck-loading applications. Dimensions and work envelope remain similar to the standard boom, and attachments such as loader buckets and pallet forks are still compatible.

Environmental Tillage Systems launches new strip-tillage system – The SoilWarrior Edge

Environmental Tillage Systems (ETS) is releasing a new three-point mounted strip-till system, the SoilWarrior Edge. The system offers the same precision strip-tillage and nutrient placement growers and custom applicators have come to expect from ETS.

The SoilWarrior Edge combines the durability and versatility of a SoilWarrior system with a tractor-mounted three-point system designed for primary tillage and zone freshening. Operators can make adjustments to the system easily from their tractor cab, such as switching from 12 to 16 rows or changing row unit down pressure.

Designed with transportation safety in mind, the SoilWarrior Edge toolbar double folds, utilizing a six-row center section, compared to an eight-row center section found on other toolbars.

Building on innovative strip-till technology

Like other SoilWarrior systems, the SoilWarrior Edge is a complete precision strip-till and nutrient-placement system that combines seedbed preparation of conventional tillage with the economic and environmental advantages of conservation tillage. This system helps minimize equipment passes, enables precise fertilizer placement, helps reduce soil erosion and improves soil health. A single SoilWarrior Edge can replace multiple implements, including primary and secondary tillage equipment and fertilizer applicators.

Capable of operating under a wide range of conditions, the SoilWarrior Edge produces superior planting zones without smearing or shearing the soil structure or leaving voids beneath the surface. The seedbed created by the SoilWarrior Edge allows for premium planter ride quality, helps enable accurate and consistent seed placement and optimal plant uptake of fertilizer blended throughout the zone.

Growers and custom applicators interested in learning more about the SoilWarrior Edge, other SoilWarrior units or ETS should visit their website.
